I am a collector by nature I have always collected things when I was a child it was porcelain dolls, teddy bears, all the shirt tales etc.

I have a few collection right now owls, Pyrex, vintage Thermos etc. but I really want to start collecting souvenir spoons did your grandmother collected these?

Johnny's grandmother collects thimbles which would be cool too but I don't want to be a copy cat so here is my new obsession ( I have them often) :D

I want my grand kids to look at my collection like I always do Mama Ellen's thimbles and wonder about them...who gave them to her...

I want one from every state!!!

Weekend Recap

Hello glories did ya'll have a great weekend? Our weekend was full of good food loaded potato soup, grilled chicken pasta, and chicken and steak fajitas. We watched movies Zombieland was really good I was pleasantly surprised. Saturday I updated the shop so check it out!

We hung out with friends, played games and just goofed off. I have a busy week ahead with work, birthday parties coming up, Valentines, I am guest blogging tomorrow, and working on some costume orders, Easter and spring items for my little shop :D

and something fun is on its way so be sure to keep checkin its going to BIG...

Tasty Tuesday Fondue

3 tbsp. butter

3 tbsp. all-purpose flour

3/4 c. beer or ale

3/4 c. milk

2 tsp. worcestershire sauce

1/2 tsp. paprika

dash cayenne pepper

3 c. shredded mild or medium cheddar cheese

In a sauce pan melt butter and blend in flour. Gradually stir in beer and milk stirring constantly until thickened. Over medium heat. Add worsetershire sauce and spices. Remove from heat stir in 1/2 c. of cheese at a time into mixture, stirring constantly. Return to low heat until all cheese is melted. Serve in fondue pot. make 3 cups. This is so good I usually have to double the recipe.

Serve with bread and apples

This is so good!

Weekend Recap And The Google Game

We had a great weekend just kinda hung out as a family which is really nice because when you have teenagers and a husband who has not had a day off in fourteen days that is a rare thing! We watched movies, had great meals and lots of laughs. (Bad me I didn't take one picture all weekend that is so unlike me).

Oh Mario You Saved The Day!

I haven't felt good today so I got this little prize to brighten my day (and it has) I just love all the Mario games do you? I would recommend this game :D

Tasty Tuesday!!!

Hello everyone! I am Robyn (Carrie's little sister). I cannot take credit for this recipe, but my husband came up with this on his own. I hope you like it! We had this tonight and it was delicious!!!!!!!!! The tomatillo sauce was already made, so it took only 15 mins. Try this out! Also come by and check out my blog!

Chicken Tostada

Tomatillo Sauce (this can be made ahead of time)
6 or 7 tomatillosmed. onion chopped
2 whole cloves of garlic
1 jalapeno

Broil on a pan with salt till chard. Put everything in to a blender add a little chicken stock (enough to cover the mixture), cilantro (as much as you prefer), and splash of lime juice and blend.
Chicken Topping
1/2 cooked cubed chicken1/2 can of enchilada sauce
Tortillas

Heat chicken and sauce together in a pan until warm.

Heat Tortillas in oil until firm and brown.

Add your favorite ingredients such as: cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomoatoes, refried beans
Also don't forget the tomatillo sauce on top!!

Question part two

How do you stay so young looking? You seriously don't look older than 20

I get this question often I really wish I had a better answer for everyone but I seriously just thinks its genetics and I feel about twenty (haha) so I think that helps! I do use a moisture cream every other night if I use it every day it tends to make my face oily

I notice your hair is darker. Do you color your own hair or go to a hairdresser for that?

I do color my hair in the summer I have blonde highlights in the winter I go darker more my natural color. Christy my sister below is a hair dresser so she does my hair :D

What is your favorite craft item you like to work with?

This is a great question I love working with felt and paints I am always trying out new stuff!

What are your beauty tip? How old are you again?

Tasty Tuesday

So ok I won this super cute giveaway from Janel

this picture is missing all the great candy we were eating it :D

She even included Dixie a sweet little hat (she made it how great is that!)

Now on to Tasty Tuesday... Debbie shared this great recipe it would be perfect for

Valentine Day!

1 sheet puffy pastry, thawed at room temperature
8 ounces Cream Cheese, softened
¼ cup Confectioner’s Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 lb Fresh Strawberries, sliced
¼ - ½ cup Granulated Sugar
2 cups Whipped Topping
¼ cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
　
　
Makes 3 servings.
1. Cut your sheet of puff pastry into six, equal portions and bake per the instructions on the package. Once these are baked, remove and cool.
2. Next, clean and slice the fresh strawberries. Place in a bowl and add the granulated sugar. Place in the refrigerator while you prepare the cream.
3. In a large mixing bowl, add your softened cream cheese, confectioner’s sugar and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth. Next add the 2 cups of whipped topping and mix at medium speed to incorporate it into your cream cheese mixture. I then put this into a container and placed into the refrigerator to keep cool until needed to put the napoleon’s together.
4. Now, place one of the pieces of puff pastry onto your plate. Add a few tablespoons of the cream mixture on top and spread it a little till it looks like its running down the sides a bit. Next you will add your strawberries. I took them, piece by piece and arranged them into a nice layer on top of the cream mixture. Add a small dollop of the cream mixture on top of the berries to help the next piece of puff pastry to stay in place. Now repeat.
5. After you put on the berries for the second time, I added a little bit of the whipped topping and spread it evenly on the top. Now you will melt your chocolate chips and drizzle the chocolate over the whipped topping.
6. I then sprinkled with a pinch of confectioner’s sugar to dress it up a little.
　

Note: I usually buy the larger container of whipped topping which allows me to add the extra to the top of the dessert. If you only by the smaller one, you can use more of the cream cheese mixture.

I got alot of great questions so here we go...

What is the mostembarrassing thing that has ever happen to you? I had to really think about this one for awhile...In school at lunch this boy ( who was very cute btw) said something funny I laughed and proceeded to cover him in chocolate milk. I wanted to crawl under the cafeteria table.

What is your favorite board game you like to play? I love board games but my favorite is scrabble but bring Monopoly, Life, Clue, Apples to Apples, Catch Phrase, Trouble or Trivia Pursuit and its on any day :D

What is your favorite thing you have made lately? My favorite thing lately would be the pom pom wreaths but I am working on something this weekend that I am very excited about hehe

What would you say is your best feature? I would have to say my eyes are best feature in my opinion but I also think I have a nice smile :-)

Name the top three things on your "bucket list" 1. Is to live somewhere else I have always lived in my little town in Georgia I want to experience more that is out there 2. To travel 3. To own my own store!

What is the most exciting place you have ever been and why? This is going to sounds so crazy going to a Joan Baez concert. Johnny surprised me with tickets. The concert was in Atlanta in a tiny little theater it was like she was singing just for me. I cried it was wonderful! I also meet REM that was pretty cool too.

First I wanted to share who I spent my day with on Monday little Andrew if have been reading my blog for awhile you will remember when he was born last year (can you believe its been almost a year!) He is a cutie :D

1. Wet shoes squeaking on the floor like in school and that annoying little kid keeps rubbing his feet back and forth to make that awful noise! AAARRRGGGG

2. Styrofoam rubbing together (I have a hate for noise apparently)

3. Invading my personal space this is a big no no (even for Johnny unless he is invited too haha)

4. Satin enough said just saying the word bothers me

Tasty Tuesday!!!

Taco Soup

1 lb. ground beef/turkey

1 can of rotel with green chilies

2 cans of dice tomatoes

1 can corn (drained)

1 can kidney or black bean (drained)

onion (opintial)

1 pack of taco seasoning

1 pack of dry ranch seasoning

brown the meat and drain I add everything to my crock pot and let it cook on low all day. Serve with tortilla chips, sour cream and cheese. Pepper jack is really good :>

My guest blogger today

Ingredients:

Chicken (cooked and cut up) (about 3 chicken breasts)

1 can pinto beans

1 can refried beans

chili power

ground cumin

tostito chips

cheese (1 pound)

**avocado (I use 2 bc I love them)

**sour cream

**tomatoes

**lettuce

**taco sauce

**optional, they are used for toppings

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cook and cut up chicken

2. Pour both beans into a pot (drained)

3. Mix in a pinch of ground cumin and chili powder

4. Pour layer of tostito chips in casserole dish. Then, place chicken on top of chips, then beans, then cheese (layering)

6. Bake at 350 degrees until cheese is melted. Top with fixings :)

2010 Goals

This was one of the pics from New Year's eve its not that great my camera decided to die but we had a fun night celebrating with friends, eating good food and playing games :D New Years Day for the first time I cooked collards (and pork roast, mashed potatoes, cornbread and black eyed peas). If you are from the south you know you have to eat collards and black eyed peas for good fortune for the new year. Well collard I have always thought YUCK! But they were really good! Everyone was fighting over the last bite. So new tradion yay that always makes me happy!

Now on to my 2010 goals

I have thought about this a lot b/c I am a list maker by nature so I thought should I list everything I want to do in 2010 or just my goals so I am going to do both sorta first my goals they are pretty simple

1. To be healthier it seems vague but I am working out a plan in my head I will put it down on paper this week.

2. Open my Etsy store I have wanted to do this for a while now and I haven't I think out of fear so I have decide to just do it !

3. To be happy with me and quit caring so much about what other people think of me and more about what I think of myself.

That's it :D I am working on a 36 things to do before I turn 36 list

Noah gave Brinsley Clue for Christmas ~ we take board games very serious around here

Christmas morning I was so bad I didn't take but three pictures and none of them were of my stuff but I will then post them because I was very spoiled this year!
