A day at the lake

You know you plan this things to do with your family in the hopes that everyone will just have the best timeWill this was not one of them don't let the pictures fool you the water was so rough that I got sea sick at the lake now that is bad and I really need to work on my posture wow

behind the smiles there were no happy campers.

But of course we will try again you win some you lose some and maybe next time if I take the cell phones and pitch them in the lake we might actually have a conversation or two oh well...

Boy, can I relate! Each and everytime we try to do something as a family, Brittany is always on her cell phone texting away! I often wish those things had never been invented!

It was that rough when we were out Saturday and it's just no where near as enjoyable!

Oh too bad it wasn't enjoyable! It looks like a great spot so maybe next time. I think you should just take the cell phones and tell them no cell phones for 2 hours or 3 hours or whatever....they WILL survive!!

Dang...that's to bad. I'm with you and cell phones. AUGH!!! I've decided next time we go out anywhere, I'm gathering them, and forcing my children to look at us and talk freely, not in between buzzes!
Have a good day.

I'm sorry, Carrie! Yep, sometimes it can be difficult planning things our teenagers....we all know that their plans are much more important than ours, right?

Oh no - I know what it is like trying to make teenagers happy. Mine don't even notice what's going on, they are so into texting their friends. Good for you for trying - it looked fun!

XOXO

I hate that, when you have certain expectations and then they fail. I'm so sorry you guys didn't have a good time. Hopefully next time.

Yes, cell phones can be a distraction.

When I was little, we had fun with each other , not cell phone. The generation under me is too technology dependant. What happened to using their imaginations? Or building sand castles

I made a few typos in my previous comment. A question mark should be after castles, and it should say cell phones. You knoiw what I mean though. :)

I'm so sorry you didn't have fun, and you got sick!

I'm wishing you many more FUN trips to the lake!

Yep, those times happen. Well, hope next time is better.

Looks like your summer has been busy so far. Tubing sounds fun. We've gone to Helen to tube before, but not the "hooch."

I got our phone bill in the mail today...between 3 kids, they sent over 17,000 text messages. I think I am going to start limiting the times they can use their phones. The lake looks fun! Sorry you got sick.
