Collections

I am a collector by nature I have always collected things when I was a child it was porcelain dolls, teddy bears, all the shirt tales etc.

I have a few collection right now owls, Pyrex, vintage Thermos etc. but I really want to start collecting souvenir spoons did your grandmother collected these?

Johnny's grandmother collects thimbles which would be cool too but I don't want to be a copy cat so here is my new obsession ( I have them often) :D
I want my grand kids to look at my collection like I always do Mama Ellen's thimbles and wonder about them...who gave them to her...
I want one from every state!!!

What do you collected?

You want to send me one from where you live I would love you to pieces!!!!

Can you tell the little things just make me so HAPPY!

I was a guest blogger today at Aquafrolic so please go check out my little DIY post!

have a lovely day

I am a collector too - there are just too many cute things in this world.

I collect Dept. 56 villages - that is my largest collection now.

My daughter collected thimbles from everywhere we went all her growing up years. They got put away when she was a teenager - I hope she appreciates them again someday.

First of all, I still collect Shirt Tales stuff. I have the stuffed animals, drinking glasses and the plastic lunchbox and stickers and many more little gadgets. I love the idea of the spoons, I will keep my eye out for spoons for you.

I remember one of my relatives had spoons hanging on those cute little spoon shelves, I can't remember who though!! I will also keep a look out for a ND spoon :) I collect cherished teddy bears, they were my mama's, but she gave them to me and I continue collecting!

My mom collected souvenir spoons - I loved playing with them when I was a kid. I should try to find them next time I visit.

My main collections are blue pressed glass and vintage cameras. Oh, and vintage craft supplies, of course!

I like the spoons. I once started collecting those too. When I was young I collected stickers and stamps. I've also started collecting Pez (for my boys), spoons (like you). However, I've decided I must just not like it afterall, because I have a few and then just stop collecting. I have no idea where the spoons are. If I find them, I will remember you!

I know how thrifty you are but I'm familiar with a site called SpoonQuest.com. They give a little history on the American Souvenir Spoons and explain the different 'types' of spoons there are to collect! If I happen upon a WV spoon while I'm thrifting, I'll pick one up for you! Good luck on your collection :)

I love your spoon collection...what a neat idea! If I ever come across one when I'm in Arkansas or after we've settled in Alabama, I'll be sure to let you know. :)

I collected spoons at one time and have a shoe box full. I've never displayed them. We don't really collect anything at this moment. We do enjoy getting souvenir wine glasses from the wineries that we visit. We also have collected art from a particular NC artist over the years. But there isn't any more room for much more of that.
