Sweet tea and Bicycles

Hello everyone thanks for all the reading suggestions I am going to check them out we live right behind our public library so I have decided to start taking advantage and check out books again I have not checked out a library book since I was in high school I am excited.

Being from the south we love our sweet tea I make up to two gallons a day depending on if the kids are here all day so I thought I would share my recipe (now everyone makes their tea different this is how I make mine.)

Bring 2 family size Tetley Tea bags to a boil this is where Johnny and I disagree he brings his water to a boil then adds the tea bags. I put the tea bags in the water then bring to a boil. Once it comes to boil turn off.

Let it steep 3 to 5 mins

put one to two cups of sugar in the pitcher add hot tea on top of sugar let stand to melt sugar it making a simple syrup of sorts. Add water to pitcher put in fridge till cool. Serve over ice. Enjoy!
This makes one gallon.

My birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks I am hinting about wanting this

Have a great day!

xoxo
Carrie

Do you know that I make tea in our coffee maker? I put a cup of sugar, maybe a tad more depending in everyone's tastes, in a gallon sized pitcher. I fill it half way with cold water and give it a good stir. I place 3 tea bags in the coffee filter basket (minus the coffee filter) and fill the coffee maker with 48 oz. of water and let it brew just like I would coffee. When it's done, I pour it into the pitcher, give it another good stir, and put it in the fridge. Mmm...so good!

Oh and I just got a book from the library the other day and I am already half way through it. It is called It Only Takes a Moment by Mary Jane Clark. I don't know what kind of books you like but on the back from Publishers Weekly it says "Virtually everyone is a suspect." and from Booklist "Clark has perfected the suspense novel where in classic Christie fashion everyone is a potention suspect."

Has is caught your interest yet? In brief it is about a kidnapping of a TV reporters' 7 year old little girl. It has been really good so far........

Hi Carrie -
That bike is FABULOUS. What a great birthday gift that would be! I have a cruiser (although not as cute) and I love cruising around the neighborhood on it!

I love going to the library. I was going to suggest Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series to you. That is my favorite series. I have read it probably 8 times. Also, your package should be coming either tomorrow or Friday. I had to make sure the resin had set up fully before I shipped the pendant. Gone with the Wind is in the package. So if you read that it should keep you busy for a while (I think it's 800 pages or something).

Have a great night!

XOXO
Jen

That's how my parents make sweet tea but I use a Mr Coffee tea maker (very old model). My BFF has a newer model and the tea isn't as good.

I would love to have a bike too. I hope you get one!

Good grief...haven't checked out a book since high school!! You should be ashamed! Get that bike, put a basket on it & ride to the library!! I have a light green one like this with a basket on the front. I love it. I need to get a seat for LIttle Package so she can ride. It will soon be cool enough to ride again here.
